Rachel Hultquist
Company Artist
Rachel began dancing at the age of 3, steadfastly refusing to perform at her first show. Luckily she recovered from that and went on to train in numerous styles of dance at a local studio. At 17 she began training at the Colorado Ballet Academy under Igor Vassine, performing in The Nutcracker and Giselle with the resident company, as well as in performances with the school. Rachel attended the Bolshoi Ballet Academy Summer Intensive in New York City and the Kirov Ballet Academy in Washington, DC Summer Intensive, as well as multiple summers with Colorado Ballet. She graduated cum laude with two undergraduate degrees in English Literature and Russian, having studied abroad in St. Petersburg. Rachel has had the opportunity to perform Giselle with New Orleans Ballet Theatre, and The Nutcracker and Cinderella with Northwest Florida Ballet, along with original contemporary and classical works by local choreographers. She has performed variations from Paquita, Sleeping Beauty, La Fille mal Gardee, La Sylphide, Giselle, Grand pas Classique, Swan Lake, The Awakening of Flora, and Cinderella. Rachel is thrilled to be returning to Ballet Embody for her second season with the company.
