Kristen Faraclas completed her MA, Teaching Dance in the Professions: ABT Pedagogy at New York University. She is an ABT® Certified Teacher, who has successfully completed the ABT® Teacher Training Intensive in Pre-Primary through Level 7 & Partnering. Prior to this, she earned her BFA in Dance from Mercyhurst University where she also danced for the Liturgical Dance Ensemble and SoMar Dance Works, a resident dance company. During her time at Mercyhurst, she had the opportunity to study abroad and perform in Norfolk, England, and Dungarvan, Ireland! Faraclas completed the Boston Ballet Adaptive Dance Teacher Training program and has spent many years teaching dance to children and young adults with mental and physical disabilities. She spent two seasons dancing with the Ballet Theatre of Maryland and teaching at various schools in the area, one being Johns Hopkins Peabody Preparatory. Faraclas is a middle school dance teacher in the Anne Arundel County Public School District and is super excited for another season with Ballet Embody!
