Jessica Markiewicz is a Baltimore-based dancer and dance educator who has been performing and teaching professionally for the past 10 years. She began her early training in the Cecchetti method at the Carter School of Dance, and later studied Vaganova with Slava Mesropov at the Ballet Royale Institute of Maryland. She has also attended summer programs at The Washington School of Ballet, the Kirov Academy in Washington DC, and American Ballet Theater. Jessica graduated with a BA in Dance from Goucher College, and earned an MA in Dance Education with a concentration in Ballet Pedagogy from New York University. In addition to performing with Ballet Embody, she has also performed numerous classical and contemporary roles with Misako Ballet Company. Jessica is the director of the dance program at Arundel High School, and currently teaches dance and yoga in AACPS.

Jessica has danced with Ballet Embody since its founding and has originated roles in the Company's Annabel Lee, Masque of the Red Death, and many others.

I like knitting sweaters, birdwatching, civil war history, shooting, and making cocktails.

I teach dance and yoga full time in AACPS at Arundel High School. I used to bartend which was my favorite job ever.
