Brontosaurus

Do you have any pets?

Beulah is our dog, part black lab, part Border Collie. Marley is our black cat.

Tell us about your dance background and training.

I grew up taking lessons in ballet/tap/jazz and got more serious about ballet in college.

What genre of dance is your favorite? Why?

Contemporary Ballet. I love that it requires strong classical ballet technique in order to trust yourself to let go and explore freer movement. It also requires versatility which allows freedom in choreography as well.

Why do you dance?

I dance because I love the physical and mental challenge. I love the feeling of being totally worn out yet strong from a good ballet class and of course I love the adrenaline rush that comes with performing.

If you wear pointe shoes, what kind do you wear?

I am currently wearing Suffolk Sonnets but I haven't found my shoe since my feet changed after having two babies. I used to wear Capezio Glisses but they are discontinued. I prefer Bloch split sole canvas ballet shoes.

What other jobs/activities/talents/passions do you pursue?

Parenting! And I enjoy business administration particularly pertaining to the arts but also in running our family business of lacrosse camps.

What are you looking forward to this season with Ballet Embody?

I am looking forward to meeting other local professional dancers and being in a company atmosphere again. I'm also looking forward to diving into Emily's choreography.
