
Sam Koseff
Company Artist
Sam Koseff (they/them) is a butch dancer, choreographer, and teacher who focuses on queering ballet. Originally from California, they began training at Westside School of Ballet before attending Goucher College, where they graduated Summa Cum Laude as a triple major in dance, gender studies, and integrative arts.
During Sam's time at Goucher, they performed in 26 works and choreographed 12. They have presented three works at the American College Dance Association, with "Pink Yearnings" selected for the 2025 ACDA Mid-Atlantic Gala and as an alternate for nationals. Additionally, they have trained with Ballet West, Alonzo King LINES Ballet, AIM by Kyle Abraham, and Orange Grove Dance.
Currently, they teach ballet, pointe, and modern at Morton Street Dance Center while choreographing for their Nutcracker and Spring Concert. They perform with Full Circle Dance Company and Ballet Ashani while freelance choreographing throughout the DMV and beyond. Sam is excited about their first season with Ballet Embody and looks forward to learning new choreographic works and making new friends.
